Unlike most schools, we do not send our students off to general career coaches. Because designers are best coached by design industry veterans, in every aspect. That’s why we only hire instructors who also excel at career coaching, in addition to teaching.

“Job guarantees” are riddled with loop holes (just read the fine print) and designed to be a marketing gimmick. We believe more in honesty.
We help students get hired
We understand there is no refunds for time spent, which means we must make it count for students who spent theirs with us.
Our instructors need to get paid a living wage
And we dare to speak the truth – our instructors do not work for free. Our student tuition is used to pay our instructors a living wage.

FAQs
Do I get career services if I am an upskilling short course student?
Upskilling short course students do not get career services due to the much cheaper price of their courses. However, they may book on-demand sessions for additional fees with their instructors after completing the short course.
Do I get career services if I am a subscriber student to School of Design?
The monthly subscription access to the School of Design (not the full career program) is not eligible for career services. To get career services, please enroll in the full School of Design career program.Â
Who are your career coaches?
We do not work with general career coaches because they lack specialized industry knowledge to provide truly effective coaching. Our instructors are our career coaches because they are hired not only for their design expertise but their ability to provide quality career coaching as well.
What is your on-demand career coaching fee?
We charge a simple flat fee of $80 per 1-hour session.
Can I just get career coaching without enrolling in your courses?
The only way to receive career coaching is either to enroll in a career program (Portfolio School or School of Design) or purchase a subscription package for ongoing mentorship.Â
