Why It's A Great Fit For You
It’s not a great fit for everyone but it is for you
You already possess some visual abilities – that is a great sign. Design is teachable but one often cannot start with 0 aptitude for visuals. Yes, you need visual skills even if you do UX design.
You have the right personality and communication skills for this field. No project is done alone and designers do have to communicate a lot with different team members and stakeholders.
You have the brain not just for creative stuff but also for business – this is essential for succeeding as a designer. It is not a job requiring only creative skills – your business thinking will go a long way.
Recommended Action Plan
If you have never studied design before or have knowledge gaps in design foundation, we recommend doing it the right way and get it out of the way before building or improving your portfolio.
If you already have pretty solid design skills but lacking an impressive body of work, you need to build your portfolio and luckily you don’t have to do it alone.
